ANIMATION FILM / PINK SUPER CUB

Weathering with You.
A pink Cub in a rain-soaked Tokyo.

Natsumi moves through the city on a vivid pink Honda Super Cub. Beyond identifying the bike, this guide explains whether the colour was ever sold, the one-off machine Honda built, and three Cub-family motorcycles you can explore today.

Natsumi's motorcycle is a Honda Super Cub

Honda Magazine explicitly identifies the motorcycle in Weathering with You as Natsumi's Super Cub. In a story where she crosses a rain-heavy Tokyo for work and reporting, the Cub's everyday, tool-like character feels at home rather than placed for spectacle.

A round headlamp, large leg shield, step-through chassis, narrow wheels and rear carrier make the family resemblance clear. The saturated pink bodywork then separates this particular machine from the subdued city around it.

The pink finish was not a production colour

In Honda's interview, the film's producer explains that the team imagined a colour not offered on a production bike. Honda Magazine and Honda Motorcycle Japan later recreated the screen interpretation as a single real motorcycle.

The paint development number was “723”, a play on Natsumi's name. Honda also recreated the helmet colours and a display number plate. It was an exhibition machine, not a factory edition sold through the normal model range.

Why this guide does not guess the engine size

Honda's article confirms the Super Cub name but does not identify a base year or engine capacity in its text. The Cub family has changed repeatedly across decades, so animation details alone are not enough to declare it a 50, 90 or 110.

If a used motorcycle is advertised in the same pink, check whether it is a repaint or wrap and confirm the registered model and original colour with the seller.

Three current directions from the pink Cub

None is the exact screen bike. Each preserves a different part of the appeal: simple urban utility, a more outdoors-oriented look, or cargo capacity for a small journey.
